Kits and printed circuit boards are good for quick asembly and a professional look. While these teach how to identify components, they don’t help with other important electronic skills.
One of these is being able to build something just from a circuit diagram and a handful of parts.
In this video I explain how to do this using a two transistor crystal oscillator as an example.
