An FIR has been lodged against 13 people, including six officers of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), an undertaking of the Ministry of Defence, for rigging contracts worth Rs 1,575 crore. It is alleged that these officers of the company based in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad rigged construction contracts and distributed contracts to favorite companies. In a 16-page FIR, the Delhi branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has named three construction companies, their directors and an unknown person as accused besides these officers.
