We have spent the last three years traveling on our 65′ Hatteras Yacht and it has been terrifying. We have faced down storms, been stranded at sea, towed off shoals and run aground by careless boaters.

But it has been magical as well. We have explored places known only by those who travel by water, met incredible people along the way, and learned so much about boating – and even more about ourselves.

And to think – until three years ago, Lyn, and I, never even owned a boat.

We met when we were 21. I was a starving musician, on my way To Los Angeles to starve some more. Lyn was a model, waitressing tables and dreaming of adventure. We went on our first date to the Jersey Shore, and spent the night on a boat her father was restoring. That date has never ended.

We traveled the country together, and settled for a few years in Hollywood, where she discovered her love for photography, and I discovered that music was not going to be my career. We put down roots in Bucks County Pennsylvania. We built a house together, raised three children and became your typical American family. She opened a photography business and I opened an accounting firm.

On a vacation to Key West, we met a woman who lived on her boat. She had been an emergency room nurse for many years but decided she had had enough. She sold everything, bought a boat and sailed to Florida. We were fascinated. It seemed so romantic, so us. The seed was planted.

Flash forward a few years and the children are grown. Lyn retired from photography and sold her business. And me, well, I was only working three months out of the year and looking for a new adventure.

So, we bought our first boat. A Carver 355. No experience, and completely clueless. We hired a captain to bring us to our local marina and we were determined to learn how to operate her. We practiced in an empty marina for a couple of days and then, we just went for it! We figured, if we liked boating as much as we imagined, we would trade up to our dream boat. Two years later we did just that.

This video vlog is our story. Boating has become our passion. We invite you to share this journey with us, as we explore the waterways of the Atlantic and Carribean, having the time of our lives, while “Trying Not To Sink.”

A cool little device for use as an audio VU meter that is basically plug and play.

(High voltages are present, so be careful when you are playing with any types of valves!!).

Speaker 1: Today we’re gonna take a look at the LED 4.25 inch diameter RV interior light with the frosted glass lens. Now, this light will add evenly distributed light to your RV interior, it’s a low profile LED light that features a frosted glass lens. It is a white RV light. The LEDs will make great replacements for incandescent lights, it’ll last about 50 times longer. They’re more efficient, they provide brighter light with less power output, and of course, no bulbs to replace or no brittle filaments. This light is compatible with a dimmer switch.

It has a nice frosted glass lens on it, white housing. It is a two wire design, you can see, it has a white wire for the ground, black wire for the power.This part is assembled in the USA. A few dimensions on this, overall diameter on this light is gonna be right at 4.25 inches. Total depth, right at 1 inch. Now, the cutout dimensions, this is a semi-recessed light, so it does have a cutout, and that measurement would be 3 and 3/8 inch diameter, and 3/4 of an inch deep.

It does use 9 LEDs, operating voltage is 12 volts DC, power draw is 0.26 amps, and wattage is 2 watts.So what I’m gonna do now, is we’re gonna hook this up to some 12 volt power, just to show you how bright it is, and then we’ll turn off the overhead lights to show you in the dark, how bright it is. So we’ll go ahead and hook our ground up, go ahead and hook our power up. I’ll go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power, and you can see with it on and the lights on, it’s still a pretty bright light. LEDs. And then if I go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, you can see …

There we go, in the dark, it’s very bright, wide light. And I’ll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Go ahead and disconnect it. But that should do it for the review on the LED 4.25 inch diameter RV interior light with the frosted glass lens.

Speaker 1: Today we’re taking a look at an LED RV interior light. This low profile LED interior light adds a great look to your RV. It is an LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter and they’re more efficient. With LED’s, you don’t have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments.

This unit features a really nice frosted glass lens with a white plastic base. It is a two wire design, so your black wire is your power wire and your white wire is the ground wire. It is a recessed mount installation. It has some pre-drilled mount holes right there, three of them. Mounting hardware not included.When it comes to the overall measurements of the unit, it gives us a diameter measurement or about three and one-eighth of an inch.

From the installation surface to the outermost portion of the lens is about a half inch deep, so it’s a nice low profile design. Now your cut out needs to have a diameter of at least two and one-eighth inches and then a depth of at least five-eighths to three quarter inches. The distance between each mount hole, center on center, is two and three sixteenths inches. And the LED’s, again, there’s multiple. It actually has nine, but those are very long lasting, especially when compared to incandescent lighting.Operating voltage is 12 volt DC, power draw is 0.26 amps.

Wattage is 2 watts. We’re going to go ahead and hook it up to power. We’ll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. So you can see here it sends out a nice consistent signal. Again, this light contains a total of nine LED’s, or nine diodes.

So the multi diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. When it comes to the color temperature, that’s 3,400k. That’s going to do it for today’s look at the LED RV interior light.
