Engineering now a days is not only restricted to software or mechanical instead with a span of time, it has broadened its scope. Now a day BE/ BTech EIE is also more preferable by students, as it provides them with a bright future ahead. EIE refers to Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. It is almost similar to ECE. The only difference lies in C and I, where C stands for Communication, I for Instrumentation.
This is an undergraduate degree in four years. The students can pursue it after completing their Plus Two with Minimum 50% score in each subject of sciences (PCM). One should specifically have knowledge of Physics and mathematics. The students will also have to appear for an entrance exam i.e. EAMCET. Then the admissions are given according to the ranks obtained in the entrance examination.
About: Basically, this engineering is one of the most sophisticated branches of engineering. It can either be studied as a separate branch or along with electronic engineering. The BE/ BTech EIE deals in maintainence, design and development of instruments used within the industries. The professionals are known as instrumentation engineers. Their work is to decide the best quality instruments to be used for final product manufacturing.

They can work in the field of power supply, chemical plants.Their main task is to ensure betterment in the reliability, stability, safety, productivity and optimization of instruments used to manufacture products. Some of the major electrical companies are BEL, ONGC, Steel Authorities Of India Limited. Whearas the software companies are Wipro, Tcs, Infoysis and many others hire graduates with a minimum 60 % score. The sectors in which one can work after graduation are R&D department of companies like steel plants, thermal power stations, cement plants and refineries. Also one can get himself employed in companies specialized in manufacturing instruments.

Higher studies help a lot as one gets specialization in a particular field, also one earns more salary. Higher studies give in depth knowledge of the study and also makes a student confident.
Remuneration: A graduate in BE/ BTech EIE can get minimum of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month. The salary of a fresher can vary depending on many factors like the type of company (public or private), qualification, skills, intellectual level of an individual, experience and so on.

Semiconductor devices are electronic components that exploit the electronic properties of semiconductor material, principally silicon, germanium, and gallium arsenide, as well as organic semiconductors. Semiconductor devices have replaced thermionic devices (vacuum tubes) in most applications. They use electronic conduction in the solid state as opposed to the gaseous state or thermionic emission in a high vacuum.

Semiconductor devices are manufactured both as single discrete devices and as integrated circuits (ICs), which consist of a number – from a few (as low as two) to billions – of devices manufactured and interconnected on a single semiconductor substrate, or wafer.

Semiconductor materials are useful because their behavior can be easily manipulated by the addition of impurities, known as doping. Semiconductor conductivity can be controlled by the introduction of an electric or magnetic field, by exposure to light or heat, or by the mechanical deformation of a doped monocrystalline grid; thus, semiconductors can make excellent sensors. Current conduction in a semiconductor occurs via mobile or “free” electrons and holes, collectively known as charge carriers. Doping a semiconductor such as silicon with a small proportion of an atomic impurity, such as phosphorus or boron, greatly increases the number of free electrons or holes within the semiconductor. When a doped semiconductor contains excess holes it is called “p-type”, and when it contains excess free electrons it is known as “n-type”, where p (positive for holes) or n (negative for electrons) is the sign of the charge of the majority mobile charge carriers. The semiconductor material used in devices is doped under highly controlled conditions in a fabrication facility, or fab, to control precisely the location and concentration of p- and n-type dopants. The junctions which form where n-type and p-type semiconductors join together are called p–n junctions.

Semiconductor devices made per year have been growing by 9.1% on average since 1978, and shipments in 2018 are predicted for the first time to exceed 1 trillion,[1] meaning that well over 7 trillion has been made to date, in just in the decade prior.
